Spine Lettering and Label: Brown label, with full text block on ribbon. Cover: 4 small dark spot marks center of cover. Binding: hinges in tact. Front end papers present. Title Page: triangular cockling on all four corners. Two small foxing marks lower left corner near gutter. Text: Full text, no known markings Inscription: Front endpaper: “Hyrum Smith’s Book” in brown ink. Same page in a different handwriting: Pulaski Cahoon’s book, bought of(sic) Hiram(sic) Smith Kirtland Feb the 11th 1832” in Black ink. Same page: “Pulaski Cahoon Book Bot(sic) of(sic) Hiram(sic) Smith” in brown ink, third or first handwriting. Notes: Page 212/122 error. Three witness page line 10 proper “seen”. |
